I'm from a school that started off really unfortunate but has become amazing! Partly because our parents are really involved at my old high school unlike the movie Stand and Deliver. I can't imagine our teams or academics suffering because there wasn't enough funding. If our teams or academics were suffering the parents of Leander High School would find a way to support and fund the activity. The parents there are involved in every sport especially in my dance team, the Blue Belles. Also, our director was similar to the teacher in, Stand and Deliver. She goes out of her way to make sure we are safe, and that we support each other. Every year Mrs. Anderson has a pictionary party for the leaders of the team at her house. The party brings the team closer and we have a blast! Without the teacher and parent support Leander would be pretty crappy.

That is so good that the parents at your high school were so involved. When someone's parents are involved it really makes going to school better for them.
Yes, parental involvement seems like it should be a vital aspect of each child's education.
I drove by Leander's high school the other day, and the bleachers to your football facility are enormous!
That's how my high school was too, and it was interesting to see that the more your parents were involved, the more you seemed to easily succeed. I think those two things really go hand in hand. Especially seeing the kids who's parents were strangers rarely excelled.
I agree with you! Parents are definantly needed for the school system!!!
I would love to see more parent involvement in schools. Parents are the ultimate shoulder to lean on for all high school students and organizations. When you have parential support you have a greater opportunity to be successful.
